Story prompt

The lesson that stuck

Many of us were raised by people who lived through the Depression and the war. They taught by example: fix it before you replace it, show up when a neighbor needs you, and keep your word. This week we are inviting members to share the one lesson from an older relative that still guides them today.

Recipe corner

Sunday supper, the way it used to be

Pot roast in the oven after church, biscuits from scratch, and a pie cooling on the windowsill. Members swap the family recipes they grew up on, along with the stories of who made them and the kitchens they came from. Bring your own card, smudges and all.

What should we bring back?

Handwritten letters, front porch visits, saving for something before you buy it. We asked: what is one habit of the Greatest Generation that the world could use more of today? Younger members are joining in too, sharing what they learned from their grandparents.
